Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Swoop Junk is operated by Swoop Junk ("we", "us"). We do not perform junk removal. We are a referral service: we collect requests from people who need junk removal and sell those requests to independent local junk removal companies ("Providers") so they can contact you. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who receives it, and your rights, including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").
The short version
- When you request a quote, we sell your request (name, phone, email, ZIP and job details) to up to three Providers. That is how we are paid.
- We do not sell your information to anyone else, and we do not collect sensitive personal information.
- You can opt out of future sale or sharing at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
Notice at collection
At or before the point we collect your information, this section tells you what we collect and why. The table shows the categories of personal information we collect and whether we sell or share each one. We collected each category in the past 12 months.
| Category | Examples | Sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, phone number, email address, IP address, ad click identifiers (such as gclid) | Yes, to Providers |
| Customer records | Name, phone, email, business name (for commercial requests) | Yes, to Providers |
| Commercial information | Items to remove, timing, job details you type in, preferred contact method, interest in recurring service | Yes, to Providers |
| Internet or network activity | Pages visited, landing page, referring website, campaign (UTM) parameters, browser type | Campaign and landing page data, yes, to Providers. Shared with Google for analytics and ad measurement |
| Geolocation data (not precise) | ZIP code you enter, approximate country from your IP address | ZIP code, yes, to Providers |
We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, precise geolocation or health information). Please do not include it in the job details box.
Where we get your information
- From you, when you fill in a quote request.
- Automatically, from your browser and device when you visit the Site, including through cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
- From advertising platforms, such as the click identifier Google adds to the web address when you click one of our ads.
How we use your information
- To send your request to Providers who serve your area so they can contact you with a quote (this is a sale of personal information).
- To contact you about your request by phone, text or email, with your consent.
- To keep records of your request and your consent to be contacted.
- To measure which pages and ads bring in requests, and to improve the Site and our advertising.
- To detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to keep the Site secure.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.
Who receives your information
Providers (sale)
When you submit a request, we sell it to up to three independent junk removal Providers that serve your ZIP code. They pay us for each request. Each Provider receives your name, phone, email, ZIP code, job details, business name if you gave one, and the campaign information attached to your request. Providers use your information under their own privacy policies, not ours. If you no longer want to hear from a Provider that already has your request, tell that Provider directly.
Advertising and analytics partners (sharing)
If analytics and advertising tools are active on the Site, Google receives information about your visit through cookies, such as pages viewed and whether you submitted a request after clicking an ad. Under the CCPA, this can be "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers (not a sale)
We use service providers that process information on our behalf under contract, such as our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare), and the email, messaging and record-keeping tools we use to deliver requests. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
Legal and business transfers
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety, and to a buyer or successor if our business or the Site is sold.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and consent records: up to 5 years after you submit them, so we can show what you agreed to and handle disputes. Then we delete them.
- Analytics and advertising data: as set out in our Cookie Policy, generally 90 days to 2 years.
- Privacy requests: 24 months, as required by California law.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we sold, shared or disclosed it to.
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records of your consent).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. Use our Do Not Sell or Share page or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor as an opt-out.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Because we sell a request at the moment it is submitted, opting out stops future sales and sharing. It cannot recall a request that a Provider has already received, but you can ask us to delete our copy, and you can contact the Provider directly.
How to make a request
Submit a request on our privacy choices page or email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request". To protect you, we verify requests to know, access, delete or correct by matching the phone number or email you used on the Site, and we may contact you there to confirm. Opt-out requests do not need verification. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your signed permission. We respond within 45 days, as the law requires.
Children
The Site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know is under 16. If you think a child submitted a request, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
